On Pascha ~ St. Thomas Sunday

Pascha

The icon of the Resurrection teaches us many things and
gives us our greatest hope.
The Mother of God choosing to obey God
and have baby Jesus at Christmas
reversed the sin of Eve who
disobeyed God.
Christ choose to die for us,
reversing the sin of Adam.
St. John the Baptist died before Christ
And went down to hades where
All people were waiting for the Messiah Christ
to free them.
St. John the Baptist came down to tell them
That Jesus is alive on earth and will be coming
to free them.
When Christ died on the Cross He killed death
And while in the tomb He went down to hades
And broke the gates of death
And pulled Adam and Eve out.
This shows the power of God to destroy death
So that we can be saved and be in heaven with Jesus forever.
The Pascha icon also shows the greatest mercy.
Adam and Eve were the first humans to disobey God
And they were the ones Christ came down to hades to pull out
And bring back to Himself in Paradise.
So by the mercy of God and the struggle of repentance,
We can also have that mercy and forgiveness.
We and our families can be with Jesus in Paradise,

to remember him in His Kingdom,
So because of Pascha we can ask
to be in God’s Kingdom, His Heaven
and we can pray for those who have died that
God will always remember them in His kingdom too.
Pascha is the biggest mercy and
It means that we can be with Jesus forever
and that NOTHING can take Jesus from us
For He has killed death,
Christ is Risen and will be with us
always, NOTHING can take Him from us.
Christ is Risen!
